CATG serves four remote communities across the Yukon Flats, Fort Yukon, Beaver, Arctic Village, and Venetie, and that geography shapes everything about how we support you. Here's what stood out this year.
Arctic Village moved into a brand-new clinic building this year, a project that took many months from start to finish and touched nearly every part of the new facility's technology.
Vicinity assigned a full-time project manager for the duration of the move, coordinating directly with building crews, equipment vendors, and CATG staff to make sure network, phones, and clinic systems were ready when the doors opened.
Your agreement includes one on-site visit per month to CATG locations. This summer, at the Executive Director's request, we increased that cadence significantly.
Vicinity technicians now travel out to the villages roughly every other week for 1 to 3 day trips, aiming for about five total on-site days a month, well beyond the contracted minimum, to keep hands-on support close to where you need it.
JACO and other telehealth medicine carts have been in place at the village clinics for years, but haven't always been fully working, whether from gaps in staff familiarity with the equipment or underlying IT issues.
Our team is now working directly with the carts' third-party vendors and putting hands on the equipment during village visits to properly diagnose and set each one up. Arctic Village's cart is a recent example: it's now fully working, and staff there are glad to have it, along with a newly set up printer at the clinic. We're continuing this same hands-on work at the remaining sites.
The Starlink dish on the roof of Nora Billy Clinic in Beaver had been tipped over, leaving the clinic with no internet at all. With no one able to safely get up on the roof to fix it, the outage dragged on.
Nhi, one of Vicinity's long-time senior technicians now on our sales team, flew his own personal small plane out to Beaver and installed a brand new dish. The clinic's internet is back up and running.
Before this year, getting even simple edits made to CATG's public website was often painful and slow, making it hard to keep news and information current for the communities you serve.
Vicinity rebuilt CATG's public website and trained your internal staff on how to update it directly, posting news and other content whenever it's needed, without waiting on us.

CATG's technology footprint spans Fort Yukon and all three villages. Every site runs on Starlink as its primary internet connection, owned and controlled directly by CATG rather than a distant vendor, as part of the sovereign network built with Vicinity. The reports below go deeper on each part of your environment.

The initiatives we're planning or already working on for CATG's technology environment, plus items worth putting on your radar for future planning.
| Initiative | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Phone System Migration to Microsoft Teams | In Progress | Replacing the on-premises Allworx phone system with cloud-based Teams calling. |
| Exclaimer Email Signature Solution | In Progress | Rolling out standardized email signatures across staff, ensuring consistent titles, formatting, and branding on outgoing communications. |
| SharePoint File Migration & Permissions Redesign | Starting Soon | Reorganizing shared files into a clear folder structure with proper department-level security groups. |
| Windows Server 2012 R2 Upgrades | Needs Scheduling | 4 servers (Accounting, Timecard, Access Control, File Server) lose security update coverage on October 13, 2026. This is the most time-sensitive item on this list. |
| Annual Computer Refresh Program | Needs Attention | Moving workstation replacement from an as-needed basis to a planned, budgeted yearly cycle. |
| General IT Infrastructure Upgrades | For Future Consideration | Broader network and server modernization; scope to be defined with your team. |
| Learning Management System (LMS) | For Future Consideration | A dedicated LMS would make it easier to track required HIPAA training and build custom, role-based workflows for different staff positions. Purpose-built platforms for tribal health organizations exist for this (e.g. MedTrainer's offering for Indian Health programs) and could be worth a closer look. |
| Item | Estimated Investment | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Windows Server 2012 R2 Replacement (4 servers) | TBD — quote pending | Needed by Oct 2026 |
| Annual Computer Refresh Program | TBD — budget to be built | Ongoing, yearly |
